    Description

Circa 1970 Charles "Red" Ruffing Single Signed Baseball. A very tough single from the New York Yankees Hall of Fame hurler who shared a dugout with Ruth, Gehrig and DiMaggio during his Bronx service. But while the sluggers were swarmed by autograph seekers, the same wasn't true of this red-headed hurler, whose population of singles is dwarfed by each, even the rare Iron Horse. Posthumously honored by the Yanks in 2004 with a Monument Park plaque, Ruffing applied a 9/10 black ink signature decades earlier to the sweet spot of the provided ONL (Feeney) ball. Some scattered toning does little to distract. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
