    Description

Circa 1961 Roger Maris Single Signed Baseball. A notarized letter from our consignor tells the tale of meeting several Yankee stars in either 1961 or 1962 while attending a youth baseball camp run by first baseman Bill "Moose" Skowron. Whether through luck or some premonition about the idiosyncrasies of the collecting hobby a half century in the future, the young man sought out the recently crowned single-season Home Run King for an autograph, and then opted not to present the "Semi Pro League" sphere to his teammates for further signings. The result is a rare and highly coveted vintage Maris single, bearing a 7/10 black ink autograph low on a side panel in Rajah's characteristically humble style. A special childhood treasure makes its hobby debut here. Notarized letter of provenance from consignor. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
