A spectacular autograph exemplar on an Official National League sphere

Circa 1955 Jackie Robinson Single Signed Baseball. As this baseball takes it turn upon the hobby's auction block, we find ourselves just over a century and a half since President Lincoln laid ink to the most significant document in our nation's archives for the advancement of racial equality. The fact that a man of African heritage now occupies the home where the Emancipation Proclamation was authored is a testament to how far we've come in this noble cause. Many thousands have struggled and sacrificed in its advancement, most in brave anonymity, but a rare few beneath the scalding spotlight of public recognition--Frederick Douglass, George Washington Carver, Martin Luther King and Malcolm X.

The man whose autograph adorns the presented sphere likewise deserves his position on that Mount Rushmore of freedom fighters, just as much as the bronze plaque that hangs at Cooperstown. Few pieces we've ever offered serve as well as a tribute to this singularly significant Major Leaguer, his blue ink inscription and autograph surviving at 9/10 boldness on the same ONL (Giles) format used throughout the second half of Robinson's decorated career. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
