    Description

Circa 1953 Mickey Mantle Signed Oversized Rawlings Poster. Absolutely mind-blowing advertising piece will drop the jaw of even the most jaded collector with its enormous size (37x26"), stunning graphics and massive, bold inscription from its youthful star. This image would have found the boyish Oklahoman in the earliest years of his Hall of Fame career and the closing edge of an unprecedented World Championship five-peat in the Bronx.

Baseball advertising pieces have long enjoyed a devout collector following, and this one is sure to light up the "Bid" button for that demographic of hobby practitioners, as the size, subject and aesthetic strength are all world class. The poster does show a degree of surface wear, and a few scattered stains commensurate with its age, but a foam core mounting has left the relic in marvelously displayable condition for those with enough wall space to spare. Mantle's black sharpie inscription measures nine inches (9") end to end, and presents with 9/10 strength. The first example of this format we've encountered, and quite possibly the only surviving example on Earth. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
