Circa 1950 Rogers Hornsby Single Signed Baseball. "Any ballplayer that don't sign autographs for little kids ain't an American," the Hall of Fame second baseman once told a reporter for The Saturday Evening Post. "He's a communist." The mighty Rajah practiced what he preached to create the contents of this fine lot, a bold black fountain pen inscription, "To Dick and Jim from Rogers Hornsby," on the side panel of a lightly shellacked OAL (Harridge) ball. A bit of chipping of the shellac barely grazes Hornsby's signature, but our catalog imagery should properly illustrate how minor a concern this is. A marvelous representation of a rare and important single. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
