Circa 1950 Charles "Kid" Nichols Signed Baseball. With 361 career victories to his name, Nichols' weighty relevance to the history of our National Pastime is evident. But it took a $53,775 result for his single signed baseball in the Heritage April 2011 Signature Auction to illustrate just how hungry the collecting hobby is for Nichols' very tough autograph. While the presented sphere is not technically a Nichols single, the Hall of Famer's 6/10 side panel autograph clearly presents as one, opening a door for one more hobbyist to fill that empty spot in his trophy case. The folks who share space on the "Worth Official League" ball are no slouches either--Hall of Famers Connie Mack and Fred Clarke along with star shortstop Glenn Wright. These signatures are equivalent or superior in strength to Nichols'. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
