    Description

Circa 1930 Babe Ruth Single Signed Baseball. The apparent game use on this ONL (Heydler) sphere strongly suggests Fall Classic vintage, so it's fun to imagine this might be the ball clubbed for the Babe's 1932 "Called Shot." Who knows? While the source of the ball's wear is a point of debate, the strength of the blue ink sweet spot autograph is not. We'd rate it a very conservative 8/10, though many would bump that score up to a nine. It's certainly a high-end specimen even without any consideration of the ball's use prior to a meeting with Ruth's fountain pen. Note that both Heydler's presidency and the use of black and red stitching had ended by the time Ruth joined the Boston Braves in 1935, so this is not a regular season model. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
