    Description

Circa 1927 Babe Ruth Single Signed Baseball. The National League presidency of John Heydler, whose facsimile signature appears on this ONL ball, ended with his 1934 retirement, so we can be sure that the presented sphere dates to the Babe's term of Yankee service. This is particularly noteworthy, as the ball likewise appears to be game used, strongly suggesting that interleague play accounts for Ruth's appearance on Senior Circuit horsehide. And the only interleague play in the pre-war era: the World Series! While we'll never know for certain, it's likely that the Babe applied his 7/10 blue fountain pen sweet spot autograph during an October meeting with the Pirates, or the Cardinals, or the Cubs. As an autographed relic from the glory days of the Golden Age Yanks, it's a tough one to beat. Original ONL ball box (missing lids) is included. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
