    Description

Circa 1927 Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Signed Baseball. Absolutely ideal autograph positioning and the boldest of OAL (Johnson) baseball stamping elevate this offering from the Row's top Murderers to the absolute peak of collecting desirability. While any ball blessed by the hard-slugging hands of this Yankee pair is cause for celebration, this is the first we've seen with Gehrig running parallel to the sweet spot rather than the standard perpendicular configuration. The Babe's black fountain pen ink retains a boldness of 7/10, with Gehrig a point better at 8/10. It's also a key point that the Official American League breed of the ball is a major positive, as so many balls from this pair derive from their barnstorming tours which made use of off-brand models. Note the red and blue stitching as well, which assures pre-1934 vintage. We'll leave our most cultured collectors to battle over this one, as only they could truly appreciate just how unique and compelling the ball is. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
