    Bobby Doerr Single Signed Baseball With Military Inscription. He became Boston's regular second baseman in 1938 and was an all-star selection by 1941. He had one of his best seasons in 1944 when he was named the American League's Most Valuable Player. Doerr's major league career was put on hold on September 20, 1944 when he entered military service with the Army. A great single from America's greatest generation. Doerr has signed the ball, and underneath written his rank, and branch (Sergeant, U.S. Army). Pre-Certified by PSA/DNA.
