Description

1970's Roger Maris Single Signed Baseball. Though the shadow of an asterisk was finally removed from Maris' single season home run record, it came too late for the hero of the 1961 season to celebrate it himself, as he passed away six years before Commissioner Fay Vincent made the 1991 ruling. Today many fans feel those who have since topped Maris' sixty-one are far more deserving of that punctuation mark, still recognizing the former Yankee outfielder as the true king. Here we find a fine side panel inscription from Number Nine, reading "To Jerry, Good Luck, Roger Maris," penned in bold black ink upon an OAL (MacPhail) ball. Just the slightest brushing of the ink must be noted, though our catalog imagery should illustrate just how minor this concern is. Still a high-grade specimen worthy of placement in the finest of collections. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
