    Description

1970 Roberto Clemente Single Signed "Last Game of Forbes Field" Baseball. Almost sixty-one years to the day after Vic Willis threw the first pitch of Pirates competition at Pittsburgh's Forbes Field, the great Roberto Clemente commemorated the closing of the fabled ballpark upon this ONL (Feeney) sphere. The Hall of Fame outfielder's distinctive script fills the sweet spot with the words, "With All Best Wishes, Roberto Clemente." He then moves to the western panel to add the notation, "Last Game of Forbes Field." While any single from this brave Pirates legend carries tremendous collecting appeal, the unique nature of this specimen elevates the offering to a level few others could match. Clemente's black ink averages 7/10 and the ball exhibits evidence of light use, suggesting that it may have seen action in that final game at 230 South Bouquet Street. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
