Description

1969 Syracuse Chiefs Team Signed Baseball with Thurman Munson. An exceptionally tough pre-rookie signature from the tragic Yankees captain. Munson batted an impressive .363 in twenty-eight games for the Chiefs in 1969, as he split time between baseball and service in the U.S. Army. Called up to the Yankees in August of that season, Munson would go on to earn Rookie of the Year honors in 1970, and lead the team back to their rightful status as World Champions after a fifteen-year drought in 1977. Munson's blue ink signature on the side panel of this non-official ball is a flawless 10/10, joined by twenty teammates including future Yanks Klimkowski and Lyttle. Two panels (including the one that contains Munson) remain as bold as the date of creation, the other two and the sweet spot average 5/10. Reniss has been deemed "clubhouse." Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
