Description

1966-85 Mickey Mantle Triple Signed "Namesake" Baseball. Almost two decades separate the Mick's encounters with the presented OAL (Cronin) baseball, unquestionably one of the most unique Mantle balls ever to reach the public auction block. It begins with a side panel inscription from the waning seasons of Mantle's Hall of Fame career, applied in 9/10 blue ballpoint ink: "To my namesake Mickey Mantle Ulliery, My Best Wishes, Mickey Mantle, 9/30/66." On January 19, 1985, the two Mickeys met again, with Mantle signing and dating the sweet spot in 10/10 ink. The hobby continues to scramble for every Mantle notation variation--The Commerce Comet, No. 7, etc.--but you can bet there's only one like this. This lot will establish the identity of the most serious Mantle collector of them all. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
