1965 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. One of several Yankee balls presented within this auction from the personal collection of outfielder Tom Tresh comes this high-grade OAL (Cronin) sphere recounting the '65 Bronx Bombers. While the club's fortunes took a significant southern turn this season after five straight American League pennants, the greats of the era are still present and accounted for, most notable the superstar pairing of Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris, who appear on the sweet spot and side panel respectively. Also here are Ford, Howard, Boyer, Bouton, Stafford, Richardson, Stottlemyre, Pepitone, Kubek, Tresh and new manager Johnny Keane. It's interesting to note that the number on the Reach stamping, which typically indicates the uniform number of the player for whom it is intended, is "9" in this case, suggesting that Tresh may have grabbed Roger Maris' team ball by mistake. Regardless, the condition is absolutely stunning, with all autographs rating 9/10 or better and the horsehide remaining as clean and white as newly fallen snow. Definitely one for the "condition freaks" in our collecting audience. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
