Description

An exquisite single from one of the game's greatest men

1963 Roberto Clemente Single Signed Baseball. He gave his Pittsburgh fans the pleasure of witnessing his 3,000th career hit before giving his life in a tragic airplane accident during the subsequent off-season while on a humanitarian aid mission to Nicaragua. Joining the likes of Lou Gehrig and Jackie Robinson as the best and bravest in baseball history, Clemente should be considered an essential component of any quality autograph collection. Here we present an exceptional specimen, signed for a twelve-year old Pirates fan in 1963 and cherished for a full half century. The young Little Leaguer swiped one of his team's baseballs for the purpose, and Clemente did the rest with a 9/10 blue ink sweet spot application. One of the boldest Clemente singles in the hobby. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Letter of provenance from original recipient. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
