    Description

1962 New York Mets Team Signed Baseball. Despite losing 120 games this season, and causing manager Casey Stengel to lament, "Can't anybody here play this game?!," the inaugural Mets squad remains one of the most sought after team balls of the post-war era. Twenty-seven members of the team that brought the National League back to the Big Apple are documented here, with only manager Stengel appearing in clubhouse format. Notables include the great Hall of Fame pitcher Red Ruffing and Dodgers legend Gil Hodges as coaches, Chacon, Mantilla, Thomas, Hickman, Craig, Hook and more. Signature quality is a conservative average of 8/10. "Mets" logo ball remains clean and white. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
