1961 Ty Cobb Signed Baseball. Fewer than five months before his passing, the greatest star of baseball's Dead Ball Era applied a personalized greeting to the side panel of this OAL (Cronin) ball for a fan. Since relieved of that personalization by way of a nail file, the "From Ty Cobb, 2/25/61" that remains presents quite wonderfully, rating a solid 8.5/10 in blue ballpoint ink. At later dates the original autograph collector added Jim Gentile and Ed Yost to the ball, though each autograph resides on a panel well clear of Cobb's autograph, allowing the Tigers great to present as a coveted single. A more affordable way for one budget-conscious collector to bring a quality Cobb baseball autograph into his collection. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
