    Description

1961 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. There was no more exciting time to be a Yankees fan than the summer and early fall of 1961, when two hard-slugging outfielders were chasing a record set by another. Collectors of team balls are well aware that the majority from this club is hampered by clubhouse signatures from one if not both of the M&M boys, as the pair just couldn't keep up with the flood of autograph requests from the thousands of fans watching their every move. Here we find a refreshing break from that theme, an OAL (Cronin) ball authentically autographed by Mantle, Maris and seventeen more members of the World Championship squad. Also here are Berra, Ford, Richardson, Howard, Boyer, Blanchard, Terry and more. A thin coating of shellac has preserved the signatures at an average boldness of 9/10, with light surface wear evident but not particularly troubling. Definitely an upper-level example for the discerning team ball collector. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
