1961 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball with Player Provenance. A handwritten letter on Yankees letterhead, though unsigned, is clearly written by rookie right-hander Rollie Sheldon, who directs the reader to the number "45" written on the ball on the "Reach" stamping, a common practice for baseballs issued to Yankees players, and seen on several of the balls Heritage auctioned from The Casey Stengel Collection. Thirty signatures are here in total from the World Champs, including the rare, genuine pairing of the M&M Boys, Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris (a second secretarial Maris is found as well). Educated collectors are well aware that one or both of these sluggers is typically secretarial on team balls from the era, with the few genuine models highly coveted. Other notables include Berra, Ford, Skowron, Kubek, Howard, Houk, Richardson, Blanchard and more. Autographs range from 3/10 to 9/10, with all but a few better than 5/10. OAL (Cronin). Letter of provenance from Rollie Sheldon. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
