    Description

1960's Roberto Clemente "Single Signed" Baseball. In a time when superstar baseball players tend to disappoint more than inspire, a hero like this Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Famer looks all the more impressive. Clemente's untimely passing in an airplane accident while on a humanitarian mission to aid Nicaraguan earthquake victims has left the hobby with a dearth of quality signatures, and particularly single signed baseballs, which approach or exceed $10,000 for quality examples. Surely this "Regulation League" ball would be in that elite class if it were a genuine single, but it is instead the work of a professional restorationist, who has removed other autographs that once joined Roberto's through an incredible chemical process. Clemente's sweet spot blue ink signature rates an impressive 9/10. Not even the most eagle-eyed among us will be able to discern a difference between this ball and a true single, making it a genuine bargain for the smart bidder. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
