    Description

1958 Kansas City Athletics Team Signed Baseball with Roger Maris. Three decades and several hundred miles removed from their last brush with October play, the A's had settled, for all practical matters, into the role of a New York Yankees farm club at the time this "Energized League Ball" was passed around the dugout. One of the Yanks' most successful acquisitions from this perennial cellar dweller appears among the twenty-eight blue ink autographs, the tough rookie-era signature of the future king Roger Maris. His side panel autograph rates a splendid 9/10, a perhaps a point higher than the team average. DeMaestri and Hadley, who were part of the trade that brought Maris to the Yanks, are here as well. An important ball for the many collectors of Number Nine. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
