Description

1957 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball, World Series Program & Game 2 Ticket Stub. With seven World Championships under their belt from 1947 to 1956, hopes were high for the 1957 pinstriped squad. Alas, a Braves pitcher by the name of Lew Burdette proved to be too much for the Yanks to handle, as he won three games in the series.

This lot is a perfect pairing for the 1957 Yankees fan, celebrating their twenty-third A.L. pennant. First is a World Series program in excellent condition and unscored, followed by a ticket stub from Game 2 of the championship series. The stub is in likewise excellent condition. An 8x10" reproduction photograph of the team is also included.

Finally, the icing on the cake is a fine OAL (Harridge) baseball signed by the team. Yogi Berra and Mickey Mantle (deemed clubhouse by PSA and JSA) are on the sweet spot, with others on the side panels such as Hank Bauer, Elston Howard, Art Ditmar, Jerry Lumpe, Jerry Coleman, Bobby Richardson, Frank Crosetti, Gil McDougald, Don Larsen, Tony Kubek, Enos Slaughter, Sal Maglie, Ed "Whitey" Ford and many more. Signatures average 7-9/10 and the ball does exhibit areas of toning. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
