    Description

1955 Indianapolis Indians Team Signed Baseball with Hall of Fame Umpire Tom Connolly. He was the home plate umpire in the first American League game, and likewise oversaw the opening games at Comiskey, Shibe, Fenway and Yankee Stadium. Respected and feared by the greatest figures in the Junior Circuit, Connolly joined Bill Klem as the first umpires inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, putting his rare autograph on many thousands of wish lists. Here we present a tremendously rare example on horsehide, applied in 9/10 blue ink to the side panel of an "Official Adoption League" baseball. Other recognizable names include Bill Carrigan, Ted Wilks and a pre-rookie Rocky Colavito. Twenty-three autographs in total average 7/10. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
