    Description

1955 Brooklyn Dodgers Team Signed Baseball with Team Letter, PSA/DNA NM+ 7.5. Magnificent condition an remarkable provenance join forces to create one of the most exciting lots ever to tempt the Brooklyn Bums aficionado. We all know that 1955 was the year that the team finally, after five straight Fall Classic losses, topped the hated Yankees in a tight seven-game Series. As such, the 1955 Dodgers model is widely considered the most desirable post-war team sphere. This is arguably the most appealing of that breed, an ONL (Giles) ball bearing twenty-five autographs rated 7/10 on PSA/DNA's demanding scale. Notables include Robinson, Campanella, Reese, Alston, Hodges, Newcombe, Gilliams, Game Seven hero Podres and the key Frank Kellert, whose single season of Ebbets service assures 1955 vintage. Present in clubhouse format are Snider, Meyer and Loes. The ball garners an 8/10 rating for the combined grade as listed. The offering is enhanced by the only example we've ever encountered of gorgeous team letterhead newly created to boast "Brooklyn's FIRST World Champions." The letter reads, in part, "Dear Eleanor: We have heard through a mutual friend of ours that you are one of Brooklyn's staunchest rooters. We are very pleased to send you, under separate cover, an official National League baseball autographed personally by each member of Brooklyn's First World Champions..." Full Grading LOA from PSA/DNA, NM+ 7.5.
