Description
1954 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball, PSA/DNA NM 7. An unstoppable Cleveland Indians squad denied the Bronx its sixth consecutive American League pennant, but this is essentially the same team that enjoyed Major League Baseball's most impressive Championship streak. Twenty-nine autographs are flawlessly sealed beneath a thin shellac coating, none dipping below a 8/10 rating. The highlights: Mantle, Berra, Rizzuto, Slaughter, Ford, a rare genuine Stengel, Skowron, Sain, McDougald, Houk, Bauer and more. OAL (Harridge). Autographs graded 8/10 by PSA/DNA, and baseball 6/10 for combined score as listed. Full Grading COA from PSA/DNA, NM 7. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. The Ray Crump Collection
The memorabilia in this section originates from personal collection of Ray Crump, who got his start in baseball within the Washington Senators' clubhouse, serving as a batboy for the club beginning in 1948. When the Senators moved to Minnesota in 1961, he came North with them to become the Twins' first equipment manager, a position he held until retiring from the organization in 1984. This long tenure in the American League provided Mr. Crump with the ability to amass a vast collection of keepsakes, which are presented in the pages that follow.
