1954-55 Santurce Team Signed Baseball with Clemente, Mays. Two future Hall of Famers meet up in the island paradise of Puerto Rico, where one was poised to enter the Majors, and the other simply honing his world class skills over the winter. The man who would make his historic debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates in April 1955 signs simply "Clemente," while the newly-crowned World Champion Willie Mays provides a full signature in the months after his "Catch." Nineteen signatures are here in total, with a rookie Don Zimmer also recognizable to American fans. The autographs have taken a bizarre tropical turn, the humid climate turning them brown somewhat murky, but they remain entirely legible and recognizable. The ball is an official Puerto Rican League model. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
