    Description

1951 St. Louis Browns Team Signed Baseball. Despite a last place finish in the American League and triple digits in the loss column, the '51 Browns remain one of the most collectible team spheres of that season, due in large part to the appearance of Negro League legend Satchel Paige and midget Eddie Gaedel on the club's roster. While Gaedel is not to be found on this OAL (Harridge) ball, Ol' Satch is present and accounted for, along with twenty-six of his fellow luckless losers. Garver, Lollar, Arft and Young are among the other notable names. Zack Taylor is secretarial. Quality averages 6/10, though Paige rates a bona fide 8/10 in boldness. A thin coating of shellac has toned somewhat. A fine memento of this classic Bill Veeck squad. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
