Description

1951 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. Widely considered to be the most desirable of all post-war team balls are those featuring the 1951 Bronx Bombers, who earned the third of five consecutive World Championships under the new reign of Hall of Fame manager Casey Stengel. This pedigree is not entirely the reason for the elite status in the hobby, however. True Yankee fans will know that this season represented the only one that saw Joe DiMaggio and Mickey Mantle share an outfield. Each is present and accounted for on this OAL (Harridge) ball signed by thirty-two. Other notables include a rare genuine Stengel (almost always secretarial), Berra, Rizzuto, Mize, Martin, McDougald, Reynolds, Raschi, Crosetti and more. A thin coating of shellac has toned and is cracking in places, but has served to maintain a 7/10 average throughout. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
