Description

1950's Jack Warhop Single Signed Baseball--Babe Ruth's First Home Run Victim. The date was May 6, 1915 when the New York Yankees right-hander suffered the indignity of surrendering a home run to the opposing starting pitcher, the first ever clubbed by the twenty-year old kid they called "Babe." Of course, history would prove that the young Red Sox southpaw was no average pitcher, making Warhop's distinction a point of pride instead. This is the first Warhop single we've ever encountered, and we wouldn't be surprised if it's unique. The OAL (Harridge) ball is boldly signed in 8.5/10 blue fountain pen ink on the side panel, sealed beneath an amber coating of shellac. A rare opportunity to lead your Ruth collection in a direction none other could follow. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
