1950's Dizzy Dean Single Signed Baseball. One of baseball's most colorful personalities, Dizzy Dean was never one to shy away from a prediction. He boasted he and brother Paul "Daffy" Dean would combine for forty-five wins in 1934, which they did. He also stated he could strike out Vince DiMaggio four times in a game, and on the fourth at-bat when DiMaggio hit a short pop-up, Dizzy yelled at the catcher to drop the ball so he could face him again and get the final strikeout, which he indeed did. Had it not been for injuries, Dean would certainly have racked up a lot more than his 150 victories, especially after winning thirty games in 1934 and another twenty-eight the following season. His dominance with the Gashouse Gang was dominant enough to still be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1953.

The OAL (Harridge) ball offered here is a beautiful creamy white with a "Best Wishes from Dizzy Dean" inscription in 8/10 ball point pen. A very tiny spot of dirt is located under the signature, but does not diminish this baseball's beautiful aesthetics. Certainly one of the better Dean signed baseballs we've seen in awhile. The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
