1949 Ty Cobb Single Signed Baseball. The inimitable Georgia Peach made more than a few enemies en route to baseball immortality, but in his later years he was ever the generous signer, as the original owner of this desirable orb would learn first hand. Applied to the side panel of a stampless ball resides a black ink inscription that reads, "To Jerry From Ty Cobb." Just below, on the adjacent panel, Cobb adds the date of "12/5/49." A brushing of shellac over each bit of writing has yellowed somewhat over the passing decades, but has suspended the ink at a rating of 7/10. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
