    Description

1949 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. Despite posting just a single winning season in eight years of Big League managing, Casey Stengel earned the role of skipper of the New York Yankees in 1949 amidst the loud protestations of local sportswriters and fans alike. Come October, however, all Bronx faithful were singing a much different tune, as the Ol' Perfesser led the club to its first of five consecutive World Championship crowns. Here Mr. Stengel shares the sweet spot with the other king in pinstripes, Joe DiMaggio, joining twenty-five Yanks on this OAL (Harridge) ball including Berra, Dickey, Henrich, Rizzuto, Crosetti, Bauer, Woodling, Reynolds and more. Signature quality ranges from a legible 3/10 to 9/10, with all but a handful rating 7/10 or better. LOA from PSA/DNA.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
