1947 Montreal Royals Team Signed Baseball with Campanella. The more evolved racial sensitivities of Canada proved to make Montreal the ideal breeding ground for two of the most noteworthy African-American pioneers of Major League Baseball just after the second World War. While one Hall of Famer was bravely making history with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947, another was waiting in the wings as the catcher of the Bums' International League farm club. The great Roy Campanella appears upon this Official International League sphere as one of twenty-two signatures applied during this crucial period in our national pastime's history. His signature rates an impressive 9/10, characteristic of all but two of his fellow teammates. A special artifact for the serious collector and baseball historian. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
