1947 Mel Ott Signed Baseball. A preseason match in Sheffield, Ohio between the New York Giants and the Cleveland Indians spawned the fine artifact we present here, punctuated by a large and bold (8/10) blue ink signature from the third man to crest the 500 home run plateau. A side panel notation in the apparent hand of the business manager of the Fort Smith Giants makes note of the scene. We must note that there appears to have been an array of other signatures on this OAL (Harridge) ball once upon a time, but a date with a piece of sandpaper has created an apparent single. Considering that a genuine solo Ott would command a five-figure sum in this condition, this is a bargain hunter's dream lot. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
