    Description

1947 Brooklyn Dodgers Team Signed Baseball. Arguably the most significant club in baseball history, the '47 Dodgers hold the distinct honor of being the first to challenge the sport's most shameful rule. Present upon this ONL (Frick) ball is the autograph of the rookie Jackie Robinson, whose courage this season surpasses any ballplayer's before or since. He appears in blue ink at a strength of 7/10, a boldness that characterizes three of the ball's four panels, and includes names like Reese, Snider, Branca, Gionfriddo, Reiser, Shotton, Furillo and Walker. The fourth panel averages 4/10, and includes Jorgensen and Barney. Twenty-eight autographs are here in total. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
