1947 Babe Ruth Single Signed Baseball with Provenance. Even as his once mighty frame was gradually whittled down by the cancer that would claim his life a year later, the brave Babe continued his advocacy of the American Pastime to our nation's youth. This fine relic derives from an "American Legion Junior Baseball Nite" in Indianapolis, saved in the personal collection of a young outfielder for the "Acton 1946 Champs." We find the name of "Don Shimer" both on the Acton roster of the game's program and in an inscription in an unknown hand on the provided ONL (Frick) ball, which likewise provides a marvelous 8/10 black fountain pen side panel signature from the reigning Home Run King. It's one of the finest Ruth autographs on horsehide in the hobby. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
