1946 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. Back from three years of WWII military service, the great Joe DiMaggio joins a full roster of Yankees eager to pick up where they had left off. The Yankee Clipper is one of over forty (!) signatures on this ONL (Frick) ball, likely acquired by a fan down south at the team's spring training grounds. Other notables include Dickey, Gordon, Henrich, Rolfe, Stirnweiss, Silvera, Gumpert. Legendary broadcaster Mel Allen is here as well, and veteran newspaper man Jim Dawson of the NY Times for whom the award for top Yankees rookie at spring training is named. Signatures are applied in bold fountain pen ink, averaging 8/10 in strength. Auction LOA from JSA.
