Description

1946 Boston Red Sox Team Signed Baseball. The great Ted Williams sampled his only taste of October action this season, though the Bambino's Curse and Enos Slaughter's Mad Dash proved too much for the Sox to overcome. We prefer to see the glass as half full however, and celebrate this as the only A.L. Championship Red Sox team ball issued between 1918 and 1967. Twenty-three members have clocked in on this OAL (Harridge) ball, with Teddy Ballgame sharing a sweet spot position with Rip Russell, and Cronin, Doerr, Pesky, Dom DiMaggio, Hughson, York, Higgins and the rest nearby. Signature quality rates a consistent 5/10, with only a couple (none listed above) dipping considerably below that range. An elegantly applied side panel notation reading "Boston Red Sox, American League Champions 1946" adds further appeal. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
Guide Value or Estimate: $800 - $1,200.
