    1944 St. Louis Cardinals Team Signed Baseball. With their ranks decimated by the draft, the Cardinals managed to convince their old star Pepper Martin to come back from four years of retirement to lead his old team one last time. The move paid off in a big way, as the Cardinals earned a World Championship in the most glorious fashion possible, by topping their crosstown rivals the St. Louis Browns. This ONL (Frick) ball presents twenty-five members of that World Championship crew, notably an early Musial, Martin, Marion, Southworth, Brecheen, Cooper, Lanier, Hopp and many more. Signature quality is terrific, averaging a consistent 8/10 to 9/10 against the lightly toned horsehide. War time balls are tough, and you'll find few nicer than this one. LOA from PSA/DNA.
