    Description

1944 Chicago Cubs Team Signed Baseball with Foxx. The Beast's only full season at Wrigley. Though his skills were markedly diminished this second-to-last season of his career, Foxx' appearance on the Cubs roster was still seen as a blessing for Chicago baseball fans, and will surely be seen that way by baseball collectors as well. This "Official 97 League" ball provides a stellar example of Jimmie's signature on the opposing sweet spot, joined by twenty-three equally bold black fountain pen autographs from the likes of Derringer, Johnson, Cavarretta, Goodman and more. Charlie Grimm is clubhouse. A thin coating of shellac has served its intended purpose admirably. A scarce team ball for advanced collectors. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
