1942 National League All-Star Team Signed Baseball. The following season would see the Major League ranks severely depleted by military service, but the best in the game were still stateside for this Polo Grounds edition of the All-Star Game. Though this ONL (Frick) ball represents the losing side of the contest, there is a tremendous amount of talent among the fifteen baseball luminaries that put pen to horsehide this date. Notable among them are Durocher, Slaughter, Walters, Hubbell, Mize and Vander Meer. Signature quality ranges from 4/10 to 9/10 in quality, with the average sticking close to the high end of that spectrum. The ball itself is pleasingly toned to an even, amber shade, housed for decades in its original (included) box. LOA from PSA/DNA.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
