    Description

1940's Joe DiMaggio Single Signed Baseball to Ramfis Trujillo. The son of the Dominican dictator Rafael Trujillo, young Ramfis stands as one of the most fascinating figures of the twentieth century, with a history that ranged from political murders to electroshock therapy to romancing Hollywood starlets. As a young boy in the Dominican Republic he experienced one of his first brushes with fame as his father introduced him to the legendary New York Yankee center fielder, who inscribed an OAL (Harridge) ball, "To my little Dominican pal Ramfis Trujillo, Sincerely Joe DiMaggio." The ink has mellowed to a fully legible 4/10, and the ball is attractively and evenly toned. A fascinating artifact linking two iconic figures of the age. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
