    Description

1940's Hank Greenberg Single Signed Baseball. He was a hero to every baseball fan in Detroit, and every Jewish fan worldwide, a strapping standard bearer for the faith during a time when anti-Semitism was loudly voiced at every opposing park. Singles are tough from this brave slugger, and playing-days models even more so. His side panel inscription adorns a "Mister Shortstop Marty Marion" ball, reading, "To Steve, Best regards, 'Hank' Greenberg." Writing retains 9/10 boldness but Greenberg brushed the wet ink after signing, smudging a few of the letters. Still a fine example of a challenging single. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
