    Description

1940's Babe Ruth Single Signed Baseball. Exquisite specimen narrowly escapes a Gem Mint rating by an errant brush of the iconic slugger's hand at the closing half of his surname, as the autograph is otherwise the standard by which all others should be judged. We've always been a fan of his rare black fountain pen ink models, which seem to weather the passage of decades particularly well. Such is the case here. The text positively shouts from the sweet spot, as bold as the date of its application by Ruth. The medium is the most desired format possible, an Official American League sphere, this particular example from the presidency of William Harridge. The ball remains in its somewhat tattered but nearly complete original box, certainly another key to the autograph's remarkable condition today. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
