1940-42 Connie Mack Single Signed Baseball. Always impeccably dressed, Connie Mack labored in organized baseball an unbelievable seventy-one years as a player, manager, executive, and owner. In fact, he was so inexorably linked with the Philadelphia Athletics that the team was often referred to as "The Mackmen." Revered and respected by those both in and out of the game, Mack would always refer to his players by their given names and managed to retain a modicum of civility even in the midst of a spat. Once, when Lefty Grove was on one his locker room tirades in the 1930's, he yelled "To hell with you, Mack! To hell with you!" Mack responded softly, "To hell with you too, Robert."

OAL (Harridge) ball has "Property Of Chicago White Sox" stamped in red on each of its four side panels. Mack signs left-center on the sweet spot in 6/10 ink. Comes with remnants of vintage Wilson baseball box. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

It goes without saying that after the auction when we had a chance to have dinner together and get to know each other it even made it a better experience for me. I look forward to getting more involved with Heritage in the Future.
