    Description

1939 New York Yankees World Champion Team Signed Baseball. While the '39 Yankees can easily be regarded among the 20th century's finest assembly of ballplayers, the season was blemished by the team bidding farewell to the dying Lou Gehrig, who was the heart and soul of the team. The Iron Horse only lasted for eight games that year before retiring from the sport. Still, the Pinstriper motored on, collecting a whopping 106 wins en route to becoming the first team to win four straight World Series. Twenty-seven signatures from that championship team appear on the provided OAL (Harridge) baseball, including a sweet spot signature from Joe DiMaggio. Others here include Tom Henrich, Red Rolfe, Frank Crosetti, Charlie Keller, Joe Gordon, Spud Chandler and more. Clubhouse entries here of Gehrig, Dickey, Ruffing and McCarthy. LOA from PSA/DNA.
