    Description

1939 Brooklyn Dodgers Team Signed Rare Yellow Baseball. Arguably the toughest of all Major League baseballs in the hobby, the yellow ONL (Frick) saw just four games of action before relegation to the dustbin of baseball history, each contest featuring the Brooklyn Dodgers as a combatant. Three of the contests date from the 1939 season (the first in August, 1938), and here we find the faded yet legible autographs of seventeen members of the 1939 Dodgers, including Durocher, Dressen, Walker, Hollingsworth, Lavagetto, Casey and Fitzsimmons. Autograph quality averages 3/10, but we must stress that it's the medium itself that carries the weight here. With specimens appearing on the auction block at an average of once every two years or so, these yellow orbs are pure hobby gold. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
