1939 American League All-Star Team Signed Baseball. Just a week after the dying Lou Gehrig consecrated the diamond of Yankee Stadium with his fabled "Luckiest Man" speech, he served as honorary captain of the Junior Circuit on those same Bronx grounds. Though the Iron Horse is absent from the roster of twenty-nine that signs this OAL (Harridge) ball, you'll find few period spheres more densely packed with legends. Bound for Cooperstown are Gomez, Dickey, Foxx, Cronin, Gehringer, Grove, Feller, DiMaggio, Gordon, Greenberg, McCarthy, Ruffing, Lyons and Appling. That's fourteen Hall of Famers! Autographs average 4/10 in strength. A special relic from one of the most historic seasons in the history of our National Pastime. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
