    Description

1938 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. The final taste of World Championship glory for the great Iron Horse, whose muscular frame was already beginning the imperceptible downward slide that would end his Hall of Fame career the following season. Gehrig fittingly claims the sweet spot of this "Official Joe DiMaggio League Ball" for himself, surrounded by twenty-two teammates including DiMaggio, Gomez, Ruffing, Dickey, Dahlgren, Crosetti, Henrich, Hoag, Chandler and Selkirk. Autograph quality ranges from 3/10 to 8/10, with most closer to the upper end of that spectrum and all easily identifiable. Dickey and Gomez are secretarial. The ball itself is gently toned with a few scattered spots of foxing that do little to detract. A solid specimen recalling the great Yankee captain's last hurrah. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
